A new EP will be released soon, and it’s titled „Thursday Jazz Session.“ It features six jazzy lo-fi songs we produced this Thursday. Yeah, yeah – the name isn’t particularly original. But hey – it fits.
Before the release, though, here are a few thoughts. Do jazz clubs like the ones on our EP cover, or like the photo here, even still exist? It’s wild to think that it wasn’t so long ago that bars were filled with smoke. Do you remember? Where you could barely see through the clouds of cigarette smoke – cigar smoke was even worse. Where your clothes were ruined after a night out because they smelled so bad? Back then, it seemed like everyone smoked, and even non-smokers had no chance of escaping secondhand smoke. It was normal, everywhere and all the time.
When you think of how unhealthy and careless that was. I found it especially annoying in restaurants. You’d come in for a meal, and there they’d be: The smokers waiting for their food, or those having a cigarette after eating. And my eyes would water. Okay, I’m digressing.
During our Jazz Session, nobody smoked – and that’s how it should be. Although I have to admit, pictures of a smoky club from the 1960s do have a certain something. Thankfully, you don’t have to smell them …
